Term of the day: Tick

The smallest unit of price in which a security may be quoted. The value of a Tickvaries across asset class but a movement of 1 Tick is always the smallest price movement possible

  • No thats a tick you are talking about... Pip is normally used in currency fut. its 1/100th of a percent.. So thats effectively 1 basis point. Usually 1 tick is equal to 1 pip. But not aways, USDYEN pair is an example.
