The underlying user metrics also allow you to assess member’s stock picking abilities across the dimensions of timeframe, risk and return. This allows you to identify members and stock picks which match your personal style investment goals.
We believe that a fair, robust and flexible member rating mechanism is the most important part of any investment community. This is why we have designed a rating system which has no bias towards any particular investment style and which considers the performance of every single pick you make. We believe our algorithms are superior to any others in the market and our suite of supporting metrics is the most useful you will find.
While there is no shortage of people – on websites, messageboards, chat rooms, groups, TV, and newspapers – who are willing to give stock picks , very rarely is this advice supported by any demonstrable track record. Moreover, no consideration is given to the fact that the person giving the advice may have very different investment goals to you. If you are a low risk, long term investor, but the so-called ‘expert’ is a short term, high risk investor, following their advice may do you more harm than good.
On MoneyVidya.com we believe that the value of a stock pick is determined by two things. Firstly, the track record of the person making the pick. Secondly, how well matched the pick is with your personal investment goals.
The central features of MoneyVidya.com are the ability to follow stock picks that other members have made, analyze their track record and investment style and to establish personal credibility by making your own stock picks for the community.
We believe that our rating system is more sophisticated than anything which is currently available in the market for several reasons. For example, we take account of the variation in returns and analyze risk separately from return. We also take account of dividend payments and other corporate actions when calculating Pick Return and have the most flexible stock pick format around, whereby you can flex the timeframe of the picks to your choosing and use additional features such as Target Prices and Stop Loss Limits to maximise profitability.
It also means that we understand that the site is far from perfect – apart from bugs, there will be a lot of features that you, the user, wish MoneyVidya.com had. We’ll actively ask for your feedback, and do our best to incorporate it into our next release.
We’re building the site for you, so do make an effort to tell us what you think.
